Description
This male Blue bird has just become a father. Here he is waiting patiently for the right time to bring a new juicy worm into the nest box, for the babies. Their song calling out in a short, wavering voice, more of a chortle than a song. Marvelous birds to capture in your binoculars, male Eastern Blue birds are a brilliant royal blue on the back and head, and warm red-brown on the breast. Blue tinges in the wings and tail give the grayer females an elegant look. Photographed in Brewster, Massachusetts on a delightful evening in the month of May.
