Description
They are a phenomenon, found only under the right conditions, and are rarely seen!
These little 'sandcastles' which I call 'whippets' were found high up on top of the frozen sand dunes, in the month of February. They are also called 'Hoo Doo's, according to Google. They are between 4 and 5" tall and are naturally formed by the wind, spinning them round & round in freezing temperatures.
